Broner Loses Mouthpiece, Tooth in Defeat
Former champ Adrien Broner struggles in comeback fight
Broner suffers embarrassing loss to Blair Cobbs
Adrien Broner's return to the ring on Friday night was anything but triumphant, as the former champion lost his mouthpiece four times and even lost a tooth during a 10-round welterweight bout against Blair Cobbs. Broner, who was once considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, has now lost two of his last three fights.
The fight was close throughout, but Cobbs was able to land the cleaner shots and ultimately outwork Broner. Broner was also penalized for excessive holding and for spitting out his mouthpiece.
The loss is a major setback for Broner, who is now 34-4-1 with 24 knockouts. Cobbs, meanwhile, improves to 15-0-1 with 10 knockouts.
